It was quite an exciting day when the P-51 pulled up on two trucks. It arrived in Bemidji around 10am on Monday morning. The team is honored to start the next chapter for Sierra Sue II.<br />

The Aircorps team started early this morning in the dismantling of the airplane. By 4:30 the fuselage was getting lifted onto the flatbed truck.<br />

This aircraft is part of the CAF's Red Tail Project, committed to
telling the story of the Tuskegee Airmen. In 2004, this Mustang
crashed, taking the life of pilot and project leader Don Hinz. Now,
after a painstaking restoration at Tristate Aviation in Wahpeton, ND,
this great bird is back in the air. Flown by pilot Doug Rozendaal, the
Mustang did two excellent flights that evening. </span></p>
