SUMMARY:

AirCorps has specific emphasis on low volume fabrication using 3, 4, and 5-axis mills and routers, and CNC lathes with live tooling using Camworks software. Key expectations include producing high quality results according to work instructions, meeting daily production schedules, demonstrating strong knowledge of production processes, preventative equipment maintenance, shop organization, safety, and continuous improvement. Reports to: Fabrication Manager/CNC Machinist Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Programming & Setup

  • Writes and optimizes CNC programs to create parts on 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers using CamWorks software.
  • Develops work holding and select cutting tools based on part feature and material requirements.
  • Verifies the availability of tooling needed to run parts associated with the programs.
  • Creates and compiles necessary documents and work procedures to aid in machine set up and operation.

Machining & Operations

  • Accurately uses and reads precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
  • Cross-trains to skillfully operate a variety of production equipment.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and to specifications.

Teamwork & Continuous Improvement

  • Works with others as part of a high performance team.
  • Accepts and applies on the job training to advance professional skill level.
  • Enjoys working on challenging projects on a daily basis.
  • Outlines the tasks involved in the project and delegates accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications

  • Be able to read, write, and speak English clearly.
  • Effective and appropriate oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient at all aspects of operating relevant equipment, including advanced set-up, programming, and efficiently transitioning between orders.
  • Ability to Program CNC equipment using Camworks software.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions within a set of guidelines.
  • Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork.
  • Must have manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate equipment.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect and identify defects.
  • Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds at a time.

Preferred

  • 5 years CNC machining.
  • 5 years CNC programming.
COMPENSATION:

$27.00 per hour starting
