What a great video. I knew Doc from my days at Planes of Fame at Flying Cloud Airport. He was always fun to hang around, fun to listen to, and amazing to watch as he strapped on Sierra Sue II. I miss him.
Same here! Although I never saw him arrive in a Corvette. I always remember him showing up in a beat-up `79 Bonneville covered in rust and with two bumper stickers. One for Lion’s Tap and the other that said “My other ride is a P-51”. Put a pic in the link.
He was a great man I not only knew him but I would go to some of the same air shows I would go with Jim johns or ingamar holms in their Japanese Kate torpedoe bomber. We went to an air show in Iowa it was windy that day (with ingamar) needles to say we had to go around on the second attempt we almost nosed in I told “doc” I thought we were going to crash he said I thought so two. I enjoyed and now miss being around him and the rest of the guys
WOW, what an interesting story. I wish I could have known him. Many thanks to those people that produced this video.

Dear Pete,

AIRCORPS, thanks for posting this!
