SUMMARY:

The CAD Designer position uses CAD systems to support the Fabrication Department by creating solid models, detail drawings, and assembly drawings from provided original engineering drawings. A new designer may make routine decisions, but will refer most questions/problems to the department leader until the necessary amount of experience is acquired. It is critical to have a solid understanding of drafting techniques and familiarity with engineering terminology and 3D surfacing. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to complete basic mathematical calculations, in addition to some familiarity with CAD/CAM equipment and the relationship of CAD to CAM, is preferred.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Job knowledge through suitable education or prior work experience
  • Maintain clean and orderly conditions in assigned work area
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations, including drug & alcohol testing policies
  • Be able to read, write and speak English clearly
  • Be able to read and understand dated two dimensional drawings
  • Proficiency with modern CAD/CAM systems (Solidworks)

EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least 5 years experience with Solidworks. Must be able to provide photos or drawings of past experiences and projects showing the skills that can be provided to AirCorps Aviation.
